Through the Modern Apprenticeship pathways available, apprentices will gain hands on experience of the horticultural activity required to keep Scotland’s places and spaces outstanding.

The Horticulture SCQF Level 5 Modern Apprenticeship has been designed to encourage entry into and profession within the horticultural industry to support the wide range of skills needed by the sector in Scotland.

Parks, Gardens and Green Space SCQF Level 5 apprentices gain competence in a diverse range of horticultural skills and occupations such as assisting in the day-to-day upkeep of outdoor spaces, practicing good practical horticulture skills such as planting, tree maintenance, and grass cutting. 

From day-to-day maintenance of gardens to large seasonal bedding schemes, interacting with the public to designing green spaces, the roles and responsibilities that can be achieved by undertaking Parks, Gardens and Green Space SCQF Level 6 Modern Apprenticeship provides varied and fulfilling horticultural employment.
