The course covers a range of core computing modules and has the option to continue down the computing route or specialise in digital design. The computing route focuses on areas such as games development and cyber security, with the design route delving into subjects like web design, graphics and digital media.
The hands-on course will involve creative projects, allowing you to develop your practical skills, and learn how to work collaboratively with your classmates in a professional environment.

Entry requirements
You must be 16 years of age at the start of the course and should have access to a computer. Computers are available at your local centre.
Much of your time will be spent undertaking practical activities such as:
- Designing, developing and managing software applications and websites
- Creating and editing digital content, such as images, videos and audio
- Learning cyber security practices and implementing security measures
- Developing computer games, creating media assets, and programming interactive games
- Learning how to use social media platforms for effective marketing and communication
The classroom environment will help to develop your skills in:
- Time and project management
- Working effectively in teams, including remote collaboration with classmates based across Scotland
- Customer service, through working with local clients to creative briefs
You'll have the opportunity for personal development too and we'll support you to:
- Gain effective communication skills
- Build your confidence through practical experience

How will I study my course?
- Full Time
You will attend class for approximately 3 days per week. You will be required spend around 10-15 hours in flexible learning outside of class.
The course will be delivered in one of our centres. There will be extensive use of online resources to enhance delivery of the course. Some units will be taught using video conferencing facilities by lecturers from other centres, providing a useful introduction to working in a dispersed team.
