Designed for the modern work environment, the NQ Business course will give you an excellent grounding in business and marketing approaches, information technology, event organisation, and social media.
The course aims to prepare you employment through studying units focussing on customer care, working with others, enterprise skills, and personal development, helping you to thrive in various business roles.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be 16 or over at the start date of the course.
Much of your time will be spent developing workplace skills such as:
- Learning to plan and host events, including fundraising activities
- Developing IT skills and using various software applications
- Developing skills in customer service through roleplay and interactions
In the classroom you will learn about:
- The fundamentals of business and administration
- How to set up your own business
- Health and safety regulations in business settings
You'll have the opportunity for personal development too and we'll support you to:
- Gain effective communication skills
- Enhance your ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Work collaboratively with your classmates to build strong working relationships.
- Build your confidence and resilience
This course is made up of 3 NPA awards:
- Digital Passport NPA - This award covers the basics of using data in the workplace, how to do presentations, and understanding social media.
- Enterprise and Employability NPA - This award will develop your employability skills through studying units such as customer care, working with others, enterprise skills and personal development.
- Business and Marketing NPA - This award will introduce you to the current practices within Business and Marketing, covering topics such as management of people and finance, marketing operations, promoting a business, and event organisation.
How will I study my course?
- Full Time
Your course will generally be a mix of local centre-based learning time, and flexible learning time. You need to commit to both, but you can choose when to complete flexible learning to fit around work, caring and personal commitments.
