ESOL National 2 Units

What is special about this course?

The general aim of this Unit is to develop the basic language skills needed in familiar personal, social and transactional contexts for learners whose first language is not English.

Learners undertaking this unit will have little or no previous knowledge of English but will be familiar with Roman script. Learners will develop their level of competence in the skills of reading and writing using basic English language. 

Entry requirements

Entry is at the discretion of the centre although it would be expected for the candidate to have attained the ESOL An Introduction to Beginner English Literacies 1 or 2 or similar.

You will learn in an open and supportive environment. The course will take place over 2 sessions per week and will focus on allowing you to improve your level of English speaking, reading and writing.

Classes will take place on Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons.

Each ESOL National 2 unit has a 1.5 credit value (9 SCQF points)

Start date

Monday 2nd September - 2 sessions per week for 10 weeks:

Mondays 10am - 12.30pm

and

Wednesdays 1pm - 3.30pm
