Sad news of the death of former student Victoria Johnston

Former Student of the Year, Victoria Johnston from Lochgilphead, sadly passed away recently, at the age of just 42 after a long and courageous fight with cancer.

Lochgilphead Centre Manager Jackie MacPherson said ‘’Vicky’s enthusiasm and determination was infectious and an inspiration to her fellow students, she was a joy to have in the college. Everyone here at UHI Argyll is deeply saddened by her loss, and our sympathies go to her family and friends.’’

Vicky returned to education after a 20-year gap to undertake a course in Business, Administration and Computing with UHI Argyll and received no less than 3 nominations from her lecturers for the Student of the Year Award. She was presented with the trophy at her 2019 Graduation by guest speaker at the event, David Duke.
