SfW Hospitality students organise festive afternoon tea

SfW Hospitality students based on Islay planned and delivered a festive afternoon tea last week as part of their course.

The students are currently undertaking units specialising in Event Management and Front of House operations, and as part of their course are required run a small hospitality event. As a group they chose to organise a festive afternoon tea.

The students invited college staff and representatives from both local hospitality and retail businesses to enjoy the event.

With help from the Practical Cookery students, they created and produced a menu of both savoury and sweet Christmas themed delights – all of which went down a treat!  

The students received excellent feedback from the attendees:

“As well as being a true taste of Christmas, the afternoon tea was beautifully presented and professionally delivered by a smiling team who were willing to answer questions on the skills and techniques they have been learning.”
