Successful Student Photography Exhibition
Between August 8th and 10th the Helensburgh Learning Centre hosted a photographic exhibition of work created by students who attended the college's Introduction To Digital Photography evening class.
The 10 week course introduced students to the basics of digital photography such as exposure, focus, depth of field and composition by exploring genres such as landscape, still life and portraiture. Each class concentrated on a different genre and built up skills through a series of fun exercises and projects.
The exhibition was kindly sponsored by local businesses: Picture It! Scotland, provided print services with cheese and wine being supplied by PJ's Kitchen to help the opening night go with a swing. Raffle prizes were donated by Bodysense Holistic Visitors and The Photo Experience as well as other generous individuals. Visitors were encouraged to vote for a chance to win their favourite image and proceeds from the People's Choice competition and other fundraising activities organised by the students raised a total of £238 for local charity, Helensburgh Lomond Autism. Evie, by Ron Ellis was declared the winner.
