UHI Argyll are entering an exciting phase in the development of our Construction, Energy & Renewables Centre (CERC) in Lochgilphead.  We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual, with good communications skills to teach our apprentices, students and school pupils.  

You will have a strong record of professional, vocational expertise in the Construction Sector. A teaching background is not essential, but you must have a desire to work with young people to enhance and improve their career opportunities and citizenship skills.  

You will teach mainly subjects from the Professional Development Award in Carpentry and Joinery (GR9F 46) and National Progression Award in Construction Craft and Technician (GP6544). 

Teaching will be face to face at our workshops in Lochgilphead, Argyll.  

You must be time served and hold Carpentry and Joinery qualifications to at least SVQ 3 or equivalent with current industry experience.  Experience of teaching is desirable but not essential, as support and training will be provided.

You will be able to manage your own workload, meet deadlines, have effective verbal and written communication skills and good IT skills. You will work as part of a small team, where teamwork is critical to success.
